WorldCat Mobile NL : iPhone app pilot

WorldCat is piloting WorldCat Mobile in Netherlands at the moment.  To download the pilot you need to go to:www.worldcat.org/m/. OR If you have an iPhone you can go to the app store and search for “WorldCat NL”.

They are looking for some genuine feedback (good or bad) on your experience of using it?  The kinds of questions they have:

• Did the app load easily?
• Was the response time OK?
• Was the interface user-friendly?
• Did you search and locate items in libraries that were near to you or did you find locations patchy?
• How would you rate the pilot and would you recommend it?
• Any additional thoughts/comments?

Let's give them  lots of feedback to keep improving the experience.

Web 2.0 Lunch meeting AMC Library Team

The presentation is partly in Dutch, but it shows "The Order of Things" as they have developed themselves for me. Here's a small resume in English with some links.

• It all started with creation of a Library Toolbar, back in 2005, then dissecting that into functionality-chunks i.e. html searchboxes, rss-feeds, chatboxes. Here is a post about

Going Mobile is my Theme for this year as well as a focus on Virtual Research Networks.
The connection with this overview is that it all started with a great presentation of Lorcan Dempsey at the 34th LIBER in Groningen about the User Environment (as well as stimulating conversations with former colleague Ingrid Riphagen ...) The last slide of this presentation is his. And I am enormously looking forward meeting him again at the EMTACL10 (Emerging Technologies in Academic Libraries) Conference in Trondheim where he will be a keynote speaker. And guess what .. Ingrid Riphagen is working there now too!
